Friday Nights

It has kind of become tradition to head to the desert after church on
Fridays. Usually we take along a few families - the more the merrier!
We cook dinner on a fire, roast smores, and sing songs. ** Smores
are just not quite the same.  Who knew that marshmallows are made
with pork fat?
Totally not allowed here in this Muslim country.
So, we eat marshmallows made from
fish fat.  Not the same texture, a bit chewier with a bit of a
fishy aftertaste.  However we are still
making smores.  Must not be that bad :)

Our after church crew!

I will never tire of this beautiful sandy landscape.
The sunsets are breathtaking.
I love the solitude of the desert.

Grade One Firsts!

Sullivan totally surprised us with his debut on the Ukulele!  Apparently
Sul and his friend Gage, have been forgoing Monday lunches
in exchange for Ukulele lessons from Miss Michelle.

They must have been practicing whole heartedly because
these cute boys literately "rocked" the house!

This assembly showed off their art talents
and all they have learned in their unit of discovery- Under the Sea.

After the concert the parents were invited for an art walk.
The grade ones showcased all their hard work over the past few weeks.

 Totally cute!

Self portraits.

I loved this painting by Sullivan.  It is a painting of Indians fighting.

Awesome work Grade one!
I love how Raha School always has loads of student artwork on display.  There are
never any empty wall spaces there!
